Kevin Zhang
Kevin Zhang joined Oakline Furniture in 2014 and leads structural engineering in our R&D department. He turns design concepts into production drawings, selects joinery and hardware, and runs load and fatigue tests in our in-house test lab.
Kevin set up the lab in 2018 to test office chairs and desks to BIFMA X5.1 and X5.5 standards. Each year he and his 4 engineers test about 120 prototypes, including seat drop, backrest fatigue and stability tests, before any model is released for mass production.
His work underpins our 5-year structural warranty and helps hospitality clients pass project specifications without third-party retesting.
